If you've got what it takes, there's always the possibility of making it work for you! In this economy, it's good to really take inventory of all your skills and see where they might take you in the job market. A great example of this is a neighbor of mine, who has always had impressive skills in the area of do-it-yourself home improvement. Granted he worked in construction earlier in his career, but he definitely kept up his skills even when no longer in the sector. A while back he undertook a major renovation project on his house. He was almost ready to start with the upstairs, the flooring being the only thing left for the downstairs. Despite his considerable skill in this area, he wanted to just get it done fast so he could save some energy for starting the upstairs project. He had Empire Today take care of it and when they were doing the installation, he half joked about how after he finished working on his house he'd be ready to join their business! Turns out, that wasn't so far-fetched! The installers told him to look into Empire Today Careers and sure enough it looks like he can move forward with that as soon as he's ready. So, you see, don't discount any skills you have that could get you to land a place in the job market. Keep alert for scouting out possibilities and you could turn those skills into employment opportunities!
